The Maria Cecília Souto Vidigal Foundation (FMCSV) represents a landmark of professionalism and modernity in the management of family foundations in Brazil. Mainly due to its organized and transparent governance, with members from outside the founding family participating in the Board of Trustees and the Audit Committee. The degree of commitment and responsibility of FMCSV’s financial team has led to the creation of an endowment fund to manage the funds needed to finance the operation and sustainability of the organization. This type of operation, still little known in the country, serves as a model for other institutions of the same type. The digital collection in FMCSV’s gateway has a section that provides access to documents about its experience and that discuss management practices of the Third Sector.
