The Maria Cecília Souto Vidigal Foundation (FMCSV) operates on two main fronts: Hematology and Early Childhood Development.
In the area of Early Childhood Development, FMCSV maintains a Zero to Three Program, comprised of several projects aimed at the full development of children within this age range and also for expectant mothers.
A few of the projects developed by FMCSV are the Municipal Social Projects in six cities located in the suburbs of São Paulo state with training activities for professionals that work with expectant mothers and children, and support for City Governments for the adoption of initiatives that improve the quality of the services rendered to these people. In 2011, FMCSV kicked off its first Social Project in the metropolitan area, more specifically in the micro region of Cidade Ademar in the south end of São Paulo city.
In partnership with the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation (Fapesp), FMCSV has established a financing line for research aimed at Early Childhood under the concept of process knowledge. A fund was created financed in equal parts by FMCSV and Fapesp.
In the Zero to Three Program, FMCSV also develops publication projects, translations of foreign books as well as its own production of content.
FMCSV prefers to always work with partners and participates in networks and representative entities so it can expand its institutional presence and help to create practices that improve the quality of life of pregnant women and children under six years of age.
In the Hematology area, it has the “Dissemination of Information and Knowledge of Hematology” program which is based on a partnership with the Medical College of São Paulo University through which FMCSV contributes with equipment and infrastructure for the operation of the labs and walk-in clinics of the Maria Cecília Souto Vidigal Hematology Center, set up inside the Das Clínicas Hospital and managed and operated by the Hematology Service of the Hospital.
