The project developed in the district of Cidade Ademar (south end of São Paulo city) marks a new stage in the Social Projects of FMCSV. After the establishment of Projects in six medium-sized cities in the suburbs of São Paulo State, the Foundation decided to implement the initiative in a place with a slightly different profile: in a metropolitan area.
After reviewing the work of a number of institutions that operate in metropolitan areas, FMCSV partnered in February 2011 with the Santa Catarina Social Organization Association, which manages around 50 health services in the micro regions of Cidade Ademar and Socorro/Parelheiros in this first stage. This Social Program will include only two Basic Health Units (UBS) and two Family Health teams, located in the districts of Cidade Ademar, Pedreira and Campo Grande. In addition to the health services, the Social Project will also work with daycare centers in the region.
