Itupeva

This city, home to around 40 thousand inhabitants and located 75 kilometers from the state capital, drew the attention of the Maria Cecília Souto Vidigal Foundation (FMCSV) for its projects aimed at breastfeeding and delivery with the participation of labor coaches that assist the pregnant mothers before, during and after the delivery.

The social project dubbed Child Development Program (Programa de Desenvolvimento Infantil - PDI) is developed in partnership with the city government of Itupeva and is backed by the Association of Parents and Friends of Exceptional Children (Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionais - Apae), which manages the funds granted by the foundation and takes part in the project’s Strategic and Technical Committees.

The first agreement was signed on August 6, 2009 (Phase 1), and the continuity of the partnership was defined in July 2011 when the agreement was renewed until December 2012 (Phase 2).
