SÃO JOSÉ DO RIO PARDO

In São Jose do Rio Pardo, a city with 51,900 inhabitants, located in São Paulo state 218 km north of the capital, a factor that drew the attention of the Maria Cecilia Souto Vidigal Foundation (FMCSV) was the good healthcare service structure. The city has a low mortality rate for pregnant women and babies, and the average number of prenatal visits is consistent with that recommended by the Health Ministry (at least seven visits during pregnancy). All of this encouraged FMCSV to select São José do Rio Pardo as a partner city for the development of a Social Project that was named "Program of Assistance for Pregnant Women and Child Development" (“Programa de Assistência à Gestante e Desenvolvimento Infantil” - Pagedi) and that is being established with the support of the NGO Riopardense Assistance Integration Association (Associação Riopardense de Integração Assistencial - Sorria).
