Despite the progress made in digital technology, printed publications continue to be an important way to disseminate knowledge. Therefore, FMCSV invests in publishing books, leaflets and booklets that address its topics of expertise. So far, FMCSV has published six books. All of them available in electronic format in the Digital Collection section.
Workshop Registration
The first four books are based on lectures and discussions that took place in the four International Child Development Workshops. The purpose of FMCSV is for the topics, questions and ideas that emerge during the annual meetings not to be lost and to be shared with a wider audience. Therefore, since the First International Workshop, FMCSV has organized, edited and published the contents of these events.
Seminal books on Child Development
The other two books published by FMCSV were written by Mary Young and Linda Richardson, both hired by the World Bank, and considered to be two key works for those who want to understand Child Development take on this cause.
The first, entitled "From Early Child Development to Human Development" highlights the importance of monitoring the child to ensure his/her psychological/neurological/motor development in the future. The second "Early Childhood Development – from Assessment to Action" presents a series of successful projects and programs for child development. The goal is for these successful experiences to serve as an inspiration for those who want to adopt initiatives of this type.
With the support of the authors and the World Bank, FMCSV was granted the copyright to translate, edit, print and distribute both publications. FMCSV's goal is to inform readers of the influence that proper child care for 0 to 3 year olds has on the life of humans and show how it is possible to create and implement projects that create the conditions needed for the child to reach his/her full potential.
Both books were launched in November 2010 during the Fourth International Workshop on Child Development. In addition to the audience and partners of FMCSV, the book was also donated to the libraries of all the courses of Medicine, Psychology, Nursing and Child Education of the State of São Paulo, and all members of the National Early Childhood Network, totaling more than 1,400 copies delivered.
