In order to add knowledge on the subject of Child Development (CD) and identify alternatives for intervention in this area, FMCSV decided to periodically organize an International Workshop on Child Development.
The first edition of the International Workshop on Child Development, held in São Paulo in September 2007 gathered a select group of professionals specialized in CD to discuss important issues and provide guidance for the activities of FMSCV.
The event was attended by 70 professionals from different areas such as neurology, pediatrics, neonatology, obstetrics, psychology, psychoanalysis, psychiatry and education represented by different organizations of the public and private sectors.
The workshop was based on the concept of comprehensive and integrated child development, giving room for reflection on the roles of family, community services and society for the proper development of children as well as the role of public policies for society to incorporate such knowledge in order to sustainably enable all children to reach their full development potential.
