As in previous years, the 2010 edition of FMCSV’s International Workshop dealt with issues related to the Child Development program, the focus of discussions this year was the efficiency of networks and partnerships in the promotion of Child Development.
Inspired by this theme, FMCSV decided to organize this event with partners. Four entities accepted the invitation and the Workshop received the collaboration of the Alliance for Childhood, Abrinq, the C&A Institute and the Brazilian Pediatrics Society.
In addition, the model of the meeting was changed to increase the number and diversify the participants, as well as promote new contacts and exchanges and, for the first time, the event was opened to the public.
The news was welcomed by the community that works with Child Development and in a few days, the number of applications exceeded the originally planned capacity. This surge in demand led FMCS to review the plan and increase the space to accommodate a larger number of participants.
More than one hundred and seventy professionals attended the Workshop and, even then, around one hundred of those registered had to be placed in a waiting list and were not able to participate.
With the intention of allowing these people to have access to the knowledge presented and produced during the Fourth International Workshop on Child Development, FMCSV released the tapes, photos produced by the photographer Nelson Aguilar and presentations given at the workshop.
In this way, FMCSV expects to be collaborating with the generation and dissemination of knowledge for full child development, which is its mission.
